Car Notes
For Sale in CraigsList
Columbia, MO
Mileage: 89,423
Asking: $10,900

Selling my 2001 Pontiac Firehawk, black LS1/A4, T-Tops, #11 of 540 made in 2001. I have the dealer's Firehawk options sheet, original window sticker, etc. I bought the car a couple years ago from a friend, it had a faint noise in the bottom end. I sold it to a buddy, he drove it once or twice, he sold it back to me. It had an oil leak, steering rack leak, and still had that bottom end noise. I decided to fix it all at once, replaced all the gaskets, lifters, valvesprings and seals, oil pump, rear main seal, steering rack, power steering hoses/pump/pulley, radiator, radiator hoses, etc. When I started it back up, it still had the same faint noise from the bottom end. The 4th or 5th time I started it, it started knocking pretty loud. I started it once more to take a video, same knocking noise.

Judge for yourself: https://youtu.be/rKoWMlOjJvQ

Car itself is an 9/10, very clean and original with few mods. Corsa catback exhaust, SLP lid, Founders LCAs and SFCs, AIR pump delete and tune to remove check engine light. I tried to keep it fairly stock when I worked on it, the only upgrades were Comp LS6+ valve springs, bronze rocker bushings, a high pressure oil pump, and an LT1 radiator. Basically reliability upgrades.

Cosmetically, the hood needs to be repainted, but has no damage. The rest of the car has excellent body and paint, the worst issue is small rock chips on the passenger side ground effect and various other tiny chips on the door edge, headlight cover, and lower door. There are no dents or dings.

There is basically no rust on the car, certainly no serious rust. The SFCs have some surface rust on them as do the front spindles and the rear axle. The car was garaged most of it's life but spent a year or two outdoors before I owned it.

The car was mechanically solid before I started working on it. Ran out good, shifted good, no weird noises. I replaced the front shocks with the correct Firehawk-spec Bilsteins since I had the motor out. The tires are BFGoodrich G-Force with good tread, but they are 10 years old. Wheels are real Firehawk triple chrome-plated 17's, the chrome is starting to get pitted on the inner barrel of the wheels, see pics.

Car comes with Firehawk floor mats, the driver's side is stained but I haven't tried real hard to clean it up. The interior is a 9/10. The door panels are cracked at the typical location and the driver's seat shows minor wear on the bolster. The stereo turns itself off randomly while driving. Clean title in my name, no liens, clean Carfax is also provided.

There are over 200 pictures of the car in this Imgur album: https://imgur.com/a/zb9QLiN. If you want a better pic of a certain part of the car, please let me know.

Asking $10,900 OBO cash only, no trades. You can put a crate motor in this and have an LS3 Firehawk for cheaper than you can buy an LS1 Firehawk. Or fix the LS1, it's only run for about 60 seconds with the knock.
